I'll be honest with you. I got bored.
Not the productive kind of bored that leads to sourdough or learning Portuguese. The specific professional boredom that sets in when you've spent fifteen years reading corporate documents and you start to notice that they all have the same problems, dressed in different fonts.
So I did what any reasonable person would do. I invented a company.
HighWater Surge Capital doesn't exist. Its Chief Risk Officer has never had a bad day. Its vendors have never caused an incident. Its Procurement team is a blank canvas, unburdened by history or politics or the particular colleague who has been blocking the VMS upgrade since 2019.
Over the next few weeks I'm going to publish HWSC's strategy and policy documentation: a vendor risk policy, a cyber incident response policy, a delegations framework, a committee charter, a procurement procedure. Normal documents, the kind that sit in SharePoint and get reviewed annually by someone who was also in eight other meetings that day.
I'd like you to read them…
Read it. It'll all be fine.
